The 5 times table from 1 to 12
- 5 × 1 = 5
- 5 × 2 = 10
- 5 × 3 = 15
- 5 × 4 = 20
- 5 × 5 = 25
- 5 × 6 = 30
- 5 × 7 = 35
- 5 × 8 = 40
- 5 × 9 = 45
- 5 × 10 = 50
- 5 × 11 = 55
- 5 × 12 = 60
Tips for learning the 5 times table
- Count in 5s: 5, 10, 15, 20…
- Every answer ends in 5 or 0. It ends in 0 when you multiply an even number.
- 5 × is half of 10 ×: 10 × 8 = 80, so 5 × 8 = 40.
- The minutes on a clock face go up in 5s.
The 5 times table in the multiplication tables check
Between 1 and 3 of the 25 questions start with 5, like 5 × 7. Other questions, like 7 × 5, can use it too. Children learn the 2, 5 and 10 times tables in Key Stage 1, so there are only 3 to 7 questions in all from these three tables.
