Tips for learning the 12 times table
- The 12 times table is the 10 times table plus the 2 times table: 12 × 7 = 70 + 14 = 84.
- It is also double the 6 times table: 6 × 8 = 48, so 12 × 8 = 96.
- Every answer is even.
- There are 12 months in a year and 12 things in a dozen.
The 12 times table in the multiplication tables check
Between 2 and 4 of the 25 questions start with 12, like 12 × 7. Other questions, like 7 × 12, can use it too. This is one of the tables with the most questions, because children often find it harder.
